Just had to post these pics of our new Daughter Awatea... these are on Sunday after her blessing at Church. She's so content I wish I had taken more. Admittedly I bought the headband... my sisters have always made their daughters headbands... but I didnt get time... Im actually lucky I found the time to buy this one from Big W. I love her shoe socks, her dress is a hand me down from my Sister Mrs C. and has already been used in the blessings of at least 4 nieces.Awatea is Maori for daylight or new dawn... as Im a bit of a Twlight saga fan, I like to tell people it means breaking dawn... hehe! We decided on this name because it is a new beginning for us here in Australia and she reminds us of our new beginning and to make the most of the opportunities presented to us. We wanted a Maori name to honour our New Zealand roots... we tried to make it an easy one so people wouldnt destroy it when they tried to say it.... but people still find it difficult oh well... she's our beautiful 'Breaking Dawn.' x
